IPR course & Annual Meeting 2023
13th-15th June 2023
MÖLNDAL, Sweden
The CO2PERATE course: “Intellectual Property Rights and Patent Applications” will be held at AstraZeneca from 9:00 to 16:30. It will consist of three talks by experts from AstraZeneca Yong Lu (IP at AZ), Rhona Cox (“A chemist’s role in Business Development”), and Yorick Kamlag (tbc).
All CO2PERATE PIs and co-supervisors are invited to attend the course if they wish to do so.
The Annual Meeting will take place on the 14th (from 9:00) and 15th of June (until 13:00) and will include presentations from all ESRs describing the progress of their research projects. Each presentation is allocated a maximum of 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes for discussion. The meeting will include a social activity (tbc) and dinner in Gothenburg on the 14th, as well as an optional lab tour after the end of the meeting on the 15th (until 14:00 or 14:30 for the following fika).
Accommodation will be available at the Scandic Hotel Mölndal (13th-15th, 2 nights).
Winter School 2023

Barcelona, Spain
The CO2PERATE Winter School 2023 will take place in Barcelona, Spain.
The school is organised by Stockholm University in collaboration with the Institute of Chemical Research in Catalonia.

Innovation Competition
The CO2PERATE ITN is proud to organise an Innovation Competition for our ESRs, who will have the opportunity to formulate business ideas using the knowledge they acquired from the Entrepreneurship course. A prize will be awarded for the best idea!
Entrepreneurship course 2022
Providing our ESRs with transferable skills, such as entrepreneurship, is one of the training pillars of the CO2PERATE ITN.

Register here on the 1st of May, with the following documents:
- A copy of your passport or other valid EU ID.
- A transcript of your completed courses so far if currently studying and a copy of your degree if already graduated.
- Documentation for your English language skills.
After successful registration, you will receive a mail from AU. In this mail there will be information on how to apply for accommodation – you have to apply rather quickly (before the 6th of May). You can check some information here.
The costs for the course will be handled directly by us (apart from travel!), so you do not need to pay anything when applying for either the course or accommodation.

Annual Meeting 2022

The Annual Meeting 2022 will be hosted in Rostock by our colleagues in Germany from LIKAT and Evonik. The meeting will feature presentations by all ESRs, talks by CO2PERATE PIs or co-supervisors, an Innovation Competition, and social activities.

Another year of COVID, another digital meeting… We’ll be keeping things short and simple, giving the main stage to scientific discussions in separate sessions. Each session will be focused on one Work Package (WP), with its leader as chair and its participants (supervisors and students) as main discussion group. The rest of the ITN is invited to participate to every session as an active audience.

Together with the NordCO2 consortium, we organised a seminar across several locations. We wanted to focus the topic of our event on what it means to work in a diverse environment (not limited to gender balance) , and why. The seminar, hosted by Associate Professor Ainara Nova (UiO), featured a guest lecture by Professor Emeritus Christina Moberg from the KTH Royal institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. After the lecture, there was a discussion with invited guests Professor Adela Muñoz Paez (University of Seville, Spain) and Professor Unni Olsbye (UiO), as well as the audience .
NordCO2 Annual Meeting

The NordCO2 consortium has invited the CO2PERATE members to their annual meeting as an exceptional gesture to provide them with more time in Oslo and more socializing opportunities.
Winter School 2021

CO2PERATE collaborated with the NordCO2 consortium to organise the 2021 Winter School, which took place over the course of three days from the 22nd to the 24th of November 2021. The focus of the school was on the “Mechanisms of CO2 activation” as well as “Isotopic labelling”. The course consisted of digital lectures in the mornings and practical sessions in the afternoon.

The first course organised by the CO2PERATE ITN was centered about Open Science as well as Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). The courses were planned over 3 days, from 12:00 to 16:00 CET and were hosted by Aarhus University (AU, Denmark), LIKAT (Germany), and UiT (Norway).
Course Goal: Offer the ESRs the opportunity to learn about open access publishing, deposition of research data online and open science collaborations between academia and the industry.
Invited Speakers:
Marie-Louise Conradsen, Head of Open Science at the Faculties of Natural and Technical Sciences at Aarhus University.
Morten Hjorth Gad, Librarian at the Royal Danish Library in Aarhus.
Course Goal: Offer the ESRs the opportunity to learn about elements of RRI, including best practices in science and ethics and what constitutes scientific misconduct.
